Finland 100

Finland is celebrating 100 years of independence in 2017. The theme of the year is “Together’.

The Finns and the friends of Finland have been organizing events all around the world to celebrate our independence!

It has been 7 years since I visited my family in Finland and I miss my country and my family, even more so during this year.

A friend recently sent me an article that was published in a German magazine “Hipburn”.  It was titled “Welcome to the sound world of Finland: Musical tours in Helsinki with Citi-Tunes.”

“The tour guests receive an audio receiver and headphones so that in special places music can be heard. The visitors receive an atmospheric soul print through music.”

As I was reading the article, I discovered that the guests have been listening to my song during their visit to one of the most important landmarks of Helsinki, the Mermaid Havis Amanda. “Havis Amanda symbolizes the soul of the city and because of her Helsinki is called the Daughter of the Baltic Sea.”

I felt honored that even though I haven’t been able to go to Finland for so long my voice can still be heard. Who knew that without even knowing it I have been participating in Finland 100 celebration.

Together- even worlds away!

Happy Birthday Suomi!
